Pride Night Activations
Show your commitment to inclusion by hosting Proud To Be In Baseball at your game or community event. Hosting Pride Night is step one. Representation and Inclusion are next.
Here's how we help...
On the Field
• Sing the National Anthem or God Bless America (Bryan Ruby) *with 5-10 second intro promoting our nonprofit
• Speak in front of the team, coaches, front office, staff, or fans
• Join the broadcast for ½ inning to promote LGBTQ inclusion in baseball
• Accept an On-Field Check presentation (all donations to our nonprofit 501(c)(3) are tax deductible)
• Throw out the first pitch
• Participate in a 50/50 raffle where donations benefit our charity
Off the Field
• Host an informational booth/table on the stadium concourse
• Speak in front of the team, coaches, front office, staff, or fans
• Highlight resources (with links & QR codes on educational info & networking groups for LGBTQ athletes) in the gameday program or scoreboard.
• Connect with the community: Local LGBTQ Centers, Sports Teams, Businesses, Chamber of Commerce Organizations, or other community groups for pregame, in-game, or postgame activities or events
• Accept a donation from a portion of merchandise or ticket sales on Pride Night (all donations to our nonprofit 501(c)(3) are tax deductible)
“Visibility is crucial. When Proud To Be In Baseball shows up, we send the message that LGBTQ players no longer have to hide in order to participate in our sport. You can play baseball and you can be a proud member of the LGBTQ community. You don’t have to quit the sport in order to live your life authentically. It's 2023. Those things can coexist.” - Bryan Ruby, Founder
